Subject:        Cross-Training and Assignment of Work

Case B3-19-012 was scheduled for arbitration on Sept 15, to challenge the assignment of Legacy B Central Office work to Legacy T Technicians.  The grievance was brought pursuant to Article 14 ("Work Jurisdiction") of the contract.

The Company had earlier taken the position that this cross contract assignment of work was not a violation of Article 14 because "AT&T" is one company. In order to be consistent with their position in the Alter Ego Litigation, they backed off and agreed that legacy T Technicians actually work as "contractors" for BST.

As a result of this change in position, in a precedent setting agreement under Article 14, they agreed to remove all Legacy T Technicians form Legacy B Central Offices.
